This was inspired by our BBQ Pulled Pork with Root Beer, Coleslaw for Pulled Pork, and our Sliders on Hawaiian Rolls.

Why You Will Love These Easy BBQ Pulled Pork Sliders

  • Quick & Easy: Uses pre-made pulled pork, making assembly effortless.
  • Great for a Crowd: Perfect for parties, picnics, or family dinners.
  • Balanced Flavors: The smoky, savory pork pairs beautifully with the creamy, tangy coleslaw.
  • Customizable: Change up the toppings to suit your taste.
  • Handheld & Mess-Free: Perfect for on-the-go meals or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Stop in at your local grocery store for some basic ingredients, big flavor for this easy recipe. This is one of those recipes where a little goes a long way.

BBQ Pulled Pork Sliders Ingredients

See the recipe card below for the exact quantities of each ingredient.

  • Favorite Slider Buns: We used brioche buns for a soft and buttery texture, but any slider rolls will work great.
  • Leftover Pulled Pork: Our slow cooker recipe for root beer pulled pork is sweet and tender, but you can use your favorite.
  • Coleslaw: This recipe is complemented by our homemade coleslaw, but any creamy or vinegar-based version will work well.

For these easy pulled pork sliders, you'll want to have on hand a small saucepan and a measuring cup.

Substitutions and Variations

This dish is super flexible—here are a few ways to adapt it based on your taste or what you’ve got on hand.

  • Buns: Swap for soft Hawaiian rolls, to make our Hawaiian roll sliders or slider-sized pretzel buns.
  • Coleslaw: Use a vinegar-based slaw for extra tang or our homemade creamy coleslaw for a richer bite.
  • Favorite BBQ Sauce: Try different flavors like honey BBQ, spicy chipotle, or mustard-based Carolina sauce. If you have a favorite homemade BBQ sauce add that on top of the pork.
  • Pulled Pork: Substitute with shredded chicken or brisket instead of tender pork.
  • Toppings: Add slices of cheese, dill pickles, pickled red onions, or sliced jalapeños for extra crunch and flavor. Alternatively, brush a small amount of melted butter and sprinkle sesame seeds or poppy seeds on top of the buns.

How to Make BBQ Pulled Pork Sliders

You can make these in no time with leftover pulled pork or ingredients you already have at home.

Warm up pulled pork on the stovetop in a saucepan, if needed, and add at least ½ cup to the bottom buns.

Add ¼ - ⅓ cup coleslaw on top of the pulled pork.

Then place the top buns on and enjoy!

Optional: Assemble on a baking sheet then cover with aluminum foil and bake in the oven at 375F for 15 minutes or until the tops are golden brown for a little added texture.

Hint: Heating up your pork it before assembling sliders is a great way to enhance the flavors and keeps the sliders from getting soggy.

How to Store these Easy BBQ Pulled Pork Sliders

Here’s everything you need to know about storing this recipe.

  • Refrigerator: The buns will start to get soggy the longer they sit, so it is best to assemble individual sliders at the time of serving. If you have leftovers and want to leave them on a bun, once cooled, place in airtight containers for 2-3 days. It is best to store the meat separately from the buns for the best flavor and texture.
  • Freezer: Like above, freeze the meat separately in a freezer-safe container for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the fridge before assembly.
  • Reheating: Heat the meat up on the stovetop or gradually in a microwave and then make your sliders before serving.
  • Make Ahead: You want to assemble these sliders before eating to ensure the buns are the freshest. The pulled pork and coleslaw mix can be made in advance and stored in an airtight container until needed. See storage instructions for those recipes.

Top Tips

A few quick pointers to make sure your pork slider recipe is a success every time.

  • Toast the Buns: Lightly toasting adds structure and prevents them from getting too soft from the pulled pork.
  • Serve Immediately: Sliders are best enjoyed fresh while the flavors are warm and vibrant.
  • Double the Batch: These go fast, so making extras is always a good idea!
  • Make It a Meal: Serve with a side of fries, a fresh salad, mac and cheese or alongside other small bites for a complete plate.
  • Prep in Advance: You can pre-portion the pulled pork and coleslaw to assemble quickly for parties.

Frequently Asked Questions About BBQ Pulled Pork Sliders

Do you have questions about making these BBQ pulled pork sliders.

Can I make these ahead of time?

This recipe in particular calls for pre-made ingredients, so assembling as close to serving time is best for optimal freshness.

What’s the best way to reheat pulled pork?

I prefer to warm it up on the stovetop over low heat. If there is not a lot of juices, you can add a little water, broth or extra BBQ sauce.

Can I use a different type of meat?

Yes, shredded chicken or even smoked brisket would work great in place of pulled pork.

How do I make these spicier?

When heating up your pork you can add a spicy BBQ sauce or cayenne powder. Alternatively, when assembling add a few splashes of hot sauce or some sliced jalapeños.
