Equipment

  • Baking Sheet
  • Aluminum Foil

Ingredients

  • 24-36 slices deli ham see note
  • 12 slices Swiss cheese
  • 12 pull-apart rolls Hawaiian or other
  • ½ tablespoon sea salt

OPTIONAL:

  • 2 tbsp butter melted
  • poppy seeds

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375F.
  • Cut the buns in half, leaving all the bottom buns all together and the top as well. Place the bottoms on a lightly greased baking sheet or use foil or parchment paper.
  • Layer your items cheese, ham then another layer of cheese. If you want to put any condiments on, do that before placing the top buns back on.
  • Cove in foil and pace in the oven for about 15 minutes to heat it all up, and melt the cheese.
  • If using the topping, melt butter and brush it over the tops then sprinkle with sesame seeds. You can place back in the oven, uncovered, for a few minutes to get an extra toasted bun.

Notes

  • Layer Cheese: Layer the cheese on both sides of the ham to help hold everything together once the cheese melts.
  • Cover with Foil: Covering the sliders with aluminum foil during the first bake keeps the rolls soft while allowing the cheese to melt evenly. Remove the foil for the last few minutes if using the butter topping to lightly toast the tops of the buns.
  • Serve Warm: These sliders are best served warm while the cheese is perfectly melted.
  • Quantity of Ham: I recommend 2-3 slices per sandwich depending on the thickness
  • Cutting Tip: Use a long serrated knife to slice the rolls in half while keeping the top and bottom halves connected.
  • Refrigerator: Place any leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days.
  • Freezer: Wrap cooled sliders individually as a whole tray and freeze up to 2 months. Thaw overnight before reheating.
  • Reheating: Cover with foil and warm in an oven or air fryer until heated through.
