Equipment

  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment Paper
  • Pizza Cutter or sharp knife

Ingredients

  • 8 7" hot dogs
  • 1 8- ounce package refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • candy eyeballs

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375F degrees and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Roll out crescent dough on a surface and cut along the horizontal line to give you two rectangles, then pinch together the dotted angled cuts.
  • Using a pizza cutter or sharp knife to cut thin strips about ¼” wide. Using 3 strips wrap up your hot dog. You can wrap with wide gaps all the way up, then fill in a couple spaces as you come back down (note: depending on the size of your hot dog, you may want to use only 2 strips).
  • Leave adequate space for eyeballs when wrapping, keeping in mind the dough will puff slightly.
  • Place wrapped hot dog on the baking sheet and repeat until all are done.
  • Bake in preheated oven for about 10 minutes or until dough is golden brown.
  • Place eyeball(s) on your hot dog with a little dab of ketchup or mustard and enjoy.

Notes

  • If your hot dogs feel a little damp, dry them with a paper towel before wrapping.
  • Tuck a slice of cheese under the wraps for extra flavor.
  • Leave a little bit more space than you think for the eyes since the pastry will puff when baked.
  • These are best enjoyed fresh from the oven for the flakiest mummy wrap.
  • Perfect if your oven is full— cook for about 8-12 minutes at 350F in the air fryer or taster oven.
  • Before wrapping your hot dogs, slice it halfway to make legs and you can wrap around them as well.
