Equipment

  • High-Powered Blender
  • Measuring Cups and Spoons

Ingredients

  • 1 large red grapefruit peeled, seeded, and cut into pieces
  • 3-4 ounces 0-proof tequila I used Sobrii
  • cup water
  • 2 tablespoon simple syrup
  • ½ lime juiced
  • 2 ½ cups ice

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients to a blender, saving the ice for last.
  • Run on medium speed until well blended (running too high can cause some blenders to produce warmth which can cause it to melt too soon).
  • Pour into two low ball glasses and serve with a sprig of fresh mint.

Notes

  • Glass: Serve in a chilled rocks glass to help the frozen palomas stay cold longer.
  • Garnishes: A lime wedge or grapefruit slice adds a fresh, simple finish.
  • Salt Rim: A light salt rim adds contrast and enhances the citrus flavors without overpowering the drink.
  • Balance: Taste before serving and adjust the sweetness or lime juice depending on your taste preferences.
  • Blend Well: Blend until completely smooth so the ice fully breaks down into a slushy consistency without chunks.
