Equipment

  • Cocktail Spoon
  • Measuring Cups or shot glasses

Ingredients

  • 2.5 ounces grapefruit juice
  • 1 ounce lime juice freshly squeezed
  • ½ ounce honey or simple syrup
  • ice
  • club soda

Instructions

  • To a glass, pour grapefruit juice, lime juice and honey. Stir well to dissolve the honey.
  • Fill glass with as much ice as desired, then top off with club soda or sparkling water. Give one more stir, an extra squeeze of lime and enjoy.

Notes

  • Shaken/Stirred: Stir well to dissolve your sweetener but gently once the bubbles are added.
  • Glass: A short glass with plenty of ice allows for a perfectly cold drink.
  • Garnishes: A sprig of fresh mint and lime wedge or round.
  • Sweetness Balance: Grapefruit can vary in tartness, so adjust the honey to your taste.
  • Fresh Citrus: Fresh grapefruit juice and fresh lime juice give the drink the best flavor.
  • Larger Batch: Make enough for a crowd by adding everything into a pitcher except for the soda water. Pour on ice and top up each glass individually.
  • Salted Rim: Adds contrast and highlights the citrus flavors in every sip.
