Strawberry Crisp Recipe

Filling
- 6 cups fresh strawberries hulled and quartered
- 50 grams granulated sugar about ¼ cup
- 2 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Topping
- 125 grams all-purpose flour about 1 cup
- 85 grams old fashioned oats about 1 cup
- 100 grams granulated sugar about ½ cup
- 100 grams brown sugar about ½ cup
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ cup butter, unsalted 1 stick

Preheat the oven to 350 F. Prepare a 1 ½-quart baking dish with non-stick spray and set aside.
Place strawberries and granulated sugar in a large bowl and mix.
Add cornstarch and vanilla extract and evenly coat the berries. Pour into the baking dish.
In a medium sized bowl, whisk together the flour, oats, granulated sugar, brown sugar, sea salt and ground cinnamon.
Melt butter in a small saucepan and pour into the medium bowl. Mix well.
Crumble evenly over the strawberries and bake 35-40 minutes until sides start to bubble and the top is golden brown.
Cool slightly to allow it to thicken up before serving.
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream on top and enjoy!
- Choosing the ripest fresh strawberries will yield the best flavor.
- We have found that Old Fashioned oats yield the best texture in our crisp topping.
- Adjust the sweetness to taste by adding more or less sugar to your strawberry filling.
- Make sure you allow some setting time to thicken the filling.
