Ingredients

  • 1 cup sweetened apple cider
  • 150 grams light brown sugar approx. ¾ cup packed
  • 1 cinnamon stick roughly chopped
  • 5-6 whole cloves
  • 5-6 allspice berries

Instructions

  • Bring all ingredients to a light simmer in a small pot for about 15-20 minutes.
  • Strain into a glass jar and allow it to cool before use.

Notes

  • Simple syrup can be stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container for 2-4 weeks. 
  • This syrup can be used in cocktails, drizzled over pancakes or waffles, or mixed into yogurt or oatmeal for a boost of seasonal flavor.
