- 1 cup whole milk
- ¾ cup 18% cream
- ⅓ cup cocoa powder
- 4 ½ cups strong coffee hot
- ⅓ cup caramel syrup
- ¼ - ½ teaspoon sea salt optional
On medium heat, place a medium pan and whisk together whole milk, cream, and cocoa powder until there are no lumps.
Allow it to come to a slow boil, then lower the heat and add coffee, caramel syrup, and sea salt (if desired) and whisk to combined and warm throughout.
Serve with whipped cream and drizzle caramel sauce on top.
- Fresh is Best: Brew fresh coffee and on the stronger side than you normally would for a nice bold flavor.
- Whisk the Cocoa Powder Well: Take time to fully dissolve the cocoa so it’s silky and smooth.
- Don’t Boil Too Hard: A gentle boil is enough to combine the ingredients without scalding the milk.
- Serve Immediately: This mocha is best enjoyed warm and freshly made.
- Refrigerator: If needed, store in an airtight container and use within 24 hours as this is best served fresh. Add any toppings when ready to serve.
- Reheating: Reheat gradually on low heat in the microwave or on the stovetop.
