Equipment

  • Electric Mixer
  • Medium Mixing Bowl
  • Spatula
  • Measuring Cups and Spoons

Ingredients

  • 4 ounce cream cheese, full fat softened
  • ½ stick butter, unsalted softened
  • 125 grams all-purpose flour approx. 1 cup
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 100 grams light brown sugar approx. ½ cup packed
  • 2 tsps pure vanilla extract
  • ½-1 cup mini or regular chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Using an electric mixer beat softened cream cheese and butter together until smooth in a medium bowl.
  • Then add all-purpose flour (see notes), powdered sugar, light brown sugar and vanilla and mix with a spatula.
  • Mix in ½ cup chocolate chips (or more), then transfer to a serving bowl.
  • Top with more chocolate chips if desired
  • Serve with vanilla wafer cookies, pretzels or your favorite cracker.

Notes

  • When working with raw (unbaked) flours you can run the risk of food poisoning and contracting E-coli, as they have not been treated to kill germs. If you wish to bake it in advance you can line a cookie sheet with parchment and bake a thin layer at 350F for 5 minutes (allow it to cool before using).
  • This “dip” is on the harder side and it will get hard when kept in the fridge, you will want to bring it to room temperature prior to serving. If it is still too hard, you can microwave it on medium power for 30 seconds (too high and you will melt the chocolate chips) or spread with a knife.
  • Using softened ingredients will make for the easiest mixing experience and a more smooth, creamy dip.
  • Feel free to experiment with add-ins like chopped nuts, mini-M&M’s, and toffee bits.
