Equipment

  • 8x8 Metal Pan
  • Parchment Paper
  • Microwave Safe Bowl

Ingredients

  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 455 g icing sugar about 3 ½ cups
  • 8 ounces mini Reese’s cups halved (about 1 ½ cups)

Instructions

  • Prepare an 8x8 metal pan with parchment paper or foil and set aside.
  • In a large microwave safe mixing bowl, add butter and peanut butter. Melt in the microwave for a full 90 seconds. Remove and stir until completely smooth.
  • One cup at a time, add icing sugar and mix until no sugar streaks remain.
  • Transfer to your prepared pan and smooth as evenly as possible.
  • Top with chopped Reese’s cups until the whole top is covered.
  • Depending on the temperature of your kitchen, let the fudge set in the fridge for 2 hours or at room temperature for 4 hours.
  • Lift fudge onto a cutting board using the parchment paper. Slice into your desired number of squares and serve.

Notes

  • Line the Pan: Use parchment paper or foil with an overhang so you can lift the fudge out easily.
  • Add the Icing Sugar Gradually: Mixing in one cup at a time helps prevent dry pockets.
  • Top while Soft: Arrange the Reese’s cups right after smoothing the fudge so they stick.
  • Use a Sharp Knife: Once the fudge is fully set, wipe the blade between cuts to keep the edges neat.
  • Room Temperature Tip:Kitchen temperature affects how quickly fudge sets, so allow about 2 hours in the fridge or 4 hours at room temperature.
  • Counter: Store out of direct sunlight in an airtight container for about 3 days.
  • Refrigerator: Store the fudge in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
  • Freezer: Freeze in a freezer-safe container for up to 2 months, with parchment paper between layers. Let the pieces thaw before serving.
  • Serving: Let refrigerated pieces sit at room temperature briefly for a softer bite.
