Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge
This Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge is creamy and rich, with chopped Reese's Peanut Butter Cups on top for a chocolatey finish. It's made with four ingredients and comes together in the microwave, so there's no baking, candy thermometer or stovetop to manage. Serve it on holiday trays, at parties or whenever a sweet craving hits.

This fudge gets its creamy texture from melted butter and peanut butter, mixed with icing sugar that sweetens it and helps it firm up as it chills. Mini Reese's cups on top add chocolate and extra flavor to every square.

Ingredients
This fudge comes together with four basic ingredients you can find at any grocery store.

See the recipe card below for the exact quantities of each ingredient.
- Butter: Two sticks give the fudge its rich texture and help bind everything. Salted or unsalted butter works.
- Peanut Butter: Creamy, conventional peanut butter gives the smoothest base. Natural peanut butter can separate and change how the fudge sets.
- Icing Sugar: Also called powdered sugar, it sweetens the mixture and thickens it so the fudge firms up as it chills. Sift it first if you want an extra-smooth result.
- Mini Reese's Peanut Butter Cups: Halved and scattered on top, they add chocolate and a little texture to every square.
All you need is an 8x8 metal pan and a large microwave-safe mixing bowl. The bowl needs enough room to stir in all the icing sugar.
Variations
- Use Crunchy Peanut Butter: Swap in crunchy for a little texture in the fudge.
- Try Different Toppings: Use chocolate chips or peanut butter chips in place of the Reese's cups.
- Add a Chocolate Layer: Spread a thin layer of melted chocolate over the fudge, then add the Reese's cups before it sets. Let it firm up before slicing.
- Add White Chocolate: Drizzle melted white chocolate over the set fudge.
- Try Another Nut Butter: We haven't tested almond or cashew butter, but you could try them. The texture and sweetness may differ.
How to Make Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge
This fudge comes together in a few simple steps.

Prepare an 8x8 metal pan with parchment paper or foil and set aside.
In a large microwave safe mixing bowl, add butter and peanut butter. Melt in the microwave for a full 90 seconds. Remove and stir until completely smooth.
One cup at a time, add icing sugar and mix until no sugar streaks remain.
Transfer to your prepared pan and smooth as evenly as possible.
Top with chopped Reese's cups until the whole top is covered.
Depending on the temperature of your kitchen, let the fudge set in the fridge for 2 hours or at room temperature for 4 hours.
Lift fudge onto a cutting board using the parchment paper. Slice into your desired number of squares and serve.
Hint: Kitchen temperature affects how quickly fudge sets, so allow about 2 hours in the fridge or 4 hours at room temperature.

Recipe Tips
- Line the Pan: Use parchment paper or foil with an overhang so you can lift the fudge out easily.
- Add the Icing Sugar Gradually: Mixing in one cup at a time helps prevent dry pockets.
- Top While Soft: Arrange the Reese's cups right after smoothing the fudge so they stick.
- Use a Sharp Knife: Once the fudge is fully set, wipe the blade between cuts to keep the edges neat.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge Recipe FAQs
This recipe uses four ingredients: butter, peanut butter, icing sugar and mini Reese's cups. Everything is melted and mixed in the microwave, so no candy thermometer is needed.
Our 4-ingredient fudge is butter, peanut butter, icing sugar and mini Reese's cups. You could use only 3 ingredients and make a peanut butter fudge by not adding the Reese's on the top.
Stir the melted mixture until completely smooth, then let the fudge set fully before cutting.
Fudge that hasn't set usually needs more time, especially in a warm kitchen. Also check that the icing sugar was measured accurately.
