Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Parchment Paper
  • Measuring Cups and Spoons

Ingredients

  • 130 grams pecan halves about 1 ¼ cup
  • 30 grams monk fruit sugar about 2 tablespoons
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon water

Instructions

  • Heat skillet over medium. Add pecan halves and toast for 2-3 minutes.
  • Lower heat. Add monk fruit sugar and salt, and a splash of water. Stir for 3-4 minutes.
  • Pour evenly onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and let cool.

Notes

  • Stir Continuously: This will keep the sugar from burning or sticking together.
  • Cool Completely: Letting them sit ensures a crisp, candy-like coating.
  • Use Fresh Pecans: Stale nuts won’t crisp up properly.
  • Watch the Heat: Medium to low heat prevents the sweetener from crystallizing.
  • Double Batch: These go fast and make great edible gifts.
