Into a large punch bowl add watermelon juice, vodka, lemon juice, simple syrup, lime juice and triple sec.
Stir well and taste for sweetness, adding more simple syrup as needed.
Serve immediately on ice or place in the fridge for a couple hours to chill.
- Use ripe watermelon. Look for a deep red color in the watermelon flesh.
- Cold juice and spirits keep the punch refreshing without needing too much ice.
- Start with less simple syrup and add to taste — store-bought watermelon juices are sweeter than our homemade recipe.
- If using a homemade watermelon juice, double strain with a fine-mesh strainer or cheesecloth for a smoother punch. Once should be fine to remove any lemon and lime pulp.
- Use a hollowed-out watermelon as a punch bowl — scoop it out with an ice cream scoop and discard solids (or use them to make our homemade watermelon juice).
