Ingredients
While the ingredient list is simple, a few key items help make these easy cheeseburger sliders recipe a success.

See the recipe card below for the exact quantities of each ingredient.
- Ground Beef: We typically use lean ground beef because it provides plenty of flavor while producing less excess grease. If using a higher fat content, be sure to drain the meat well after cooking.
- Cheddar Cheese: Gives these sliders that familiar cheeseburger flavor and creates plenty of melty cheese between the layers. American cheese also works well if you're aiming for a fast food chain-style cheeseburger experience.
- Pull Apart Buns: Their connected style makes serving individual sliders incredibly easy. Any type works well, I like the Brioche ones, but Sweet Hawaiian rolls offer a light sweetness.
- Butter: Brushing the top buns with melted butter helps them turn golden and adds a little extra richness. We sometimes mix a pinch of garlic powder into the butter for a quick garlic butter topping.
- Sesame Seeds: Optional, but they help give the finished sliders the look of traditional burgers.
All you need a small baking sheet, aluminum foil and a skillet to get these sliders together.
Variations
- Add Caramelized Onions: Layer caramelized onions between the beef and cheese for extra flavor and a slightly sweet, savory bite.
- Make Them Spicy: Add hot sauce to the meat mixture or layer sliced jalapeños under the cheese.
- Add Homemade Burger Sauces: Spread your favorite sauces or a simple special sauce on the bottom buns before adding the beef.
- Try Different Proteins: Ground turkey or ground chicken can be substituted for the beef if preferred.
How to Make Cheeseburger Sliders
These cheeseburger sliders come together with just a few simple steps.

Preheat oven to 375F.
Cook meat in a skillet until no longer pink; add any seasonings desired.
Cut the buns in half horizontally and place the bottoms on a baking sheet.
Place a layer of cheese on top of the buns, followed by the cooked beef, and another layer of cheese (add any other desired toppings before the last layer of cheese).
Then place the top buns on.
Place in the oven covered with tin foil for about 15 minutes.
If desired melt butter and baste over top of the buns followed by sesame seeds. You can place back in the oven, uncovered, for a few minutes to get a toasted bun.
Hint: Be sure to drain the beef well - removing excess grease helps prevent soggy bottom buns.

Recipe Tips
- Keep the Rolls Connected: Leaving the slider buns attached makes assembly easier and helps everything stay together while baking. Sometimes I will cut the bottoms but arrange them tight together, before assembling to make it even easier.
- Use Two Layers of Cheese: Cheese on both sides of the beef helps hold everything together and creates the best melty texture.
- Don't Overbake: Once the cheese is melted and the rolls are warm, they're ready. Overbaking can dry out the beef.
- Add Extra Toppings Before Baking: Pickles, caramelized onions, or favorite sauces can be layered in before adding the final cheese layer.

Cheeseburger Sliders Recipe FAQs
Cheddar cheese is our go-to because it gives that classic cheeseburger flavor, but American cheese melts beautifully and creates a very nostalgic burger taste.
Yes, any soft dinner roll will work well.
The easiest way is to keep the rolls connected while baking and use a sturdy spatula when serving. The melted cheese also helps hold the layers together nicely.
