Add Brussels sprouts and ½ cup of water and immediately cover with a lid and cook for about 5 minutes untouched. Stir and repeat with the remaining ½ cup of water. Remove the lid and drizzle with maple syrup. Finally, if you like your Brussels sprouts seared, cook them to your personal preference.
