How to Make Whipped Goat Cheese

Just add everything to the food processor and blend until smooth.

Add goat cheese, cream cheese, honey and sea salt to a food processor and run while slowly pouring in olive oil.

Stop and scrape down the sides as needed until very smooth (note: if your cheeses are room temperature this should only take about 2-3 minutes).

Pour into a serving bowl and serve with any desired toppings (I like to do cranberry sauce, pistachios and an extra drizzle of honey).

Hint: Room-temperature cheeses whip much faster and smoother.

Recipe Tips

  • Blend Slowly: Drizzle in olive oil gradually to help achieve the creamiest texture.
  • Adjust Sweetness: Add more honey or even hot honey depending on whether you want sweet or savory.
  • Serve Warm or Chilled: If serving right away it is very warm and silky, if you have chilled it, it stiffens up slightly so allow it to sit out for a bit or pop in the microwave for 5-10 seconds.
  • Upgrade the Platter: Pair with crusty bread, pita or pretzel chips, crackers or fresh veggies.

Storage Instructions

  • Refrigerator: Store in an airtight container for 3-4 days.
  • Freezer: While you can freeze in an air tight container or freezer bag, note that dairy-based dips lose their creamy texture once frozen. You may want to try whipping it again with some additional olive oil.
  • Make Ahead: You can whip the cheese a day early and add toppings just before serving. Allow it to come to room temperature for an ultra creamy texture.

Whipped Goat Cheese Dip Recipe FAQs

Is the Costco goat cheese log 12 ounces?

Yes, most Costco logs are 11-12 ounces, which works perfectly for this recipe.

Can I make this without cream cheese?

Absolutely. The cream cheese just softens the tang; you can skip it for a bolder goat cheese flavor.

Can I make this by hand?

You can, but a hand mixer or food processor gives the best whipped texture.
