Honey Strawberry Lemonade In Glasses with Garnishing

Smooth and refreshing, our Honey Strawberry Lemonade tastes like a sunny poolside day in a glass. The lemon and ripe berries combine for a balance of sweet and tart, and honey adds a hint of floral notes as a natural sweetener. With a garnish of a juicy lemon slice, it's as pretty as it is delicious.

There is nothing better than fresh, juicy, strawberries when they are in their peak season, and we will take any opportunity to make them into as many recipes as possible! This recipe is also inspired by our Strawberry Hennessy Lemonade, Easy Strawberry Mousse, and Strawberry Rhubarb Dump Cake.

Why You Will Love This Honey Strawberry Lemonade

  • Simple: Tossing everything in the blender makes this recipe very hands off.
  • Minimal Ingredients: Only a few ingredients needed that can be purchased at any local grocery store.
  • Smooth Texture: The blender gives this drink an added smooth texture.
  • Full of Natural Flavour: A balanced sweet and tart lemonade with added natural sweetener from honey instead of processed sugar.
  • Fresh: Having a delicious, fresh homemade lemonade is always a game-changer compared to buying it in a store.

Ingredients

With just a few basic ingredients you are ready to make an even more delicious, homemade version of a classic summer beverage.

Honey Strawberry Lemonade Ingredients

See the recipe card below for the exact quantities of each ingredient.

  • Fresh Strawberries: The base for this drink, fresh is great when in season and full of flavor, but thawed frozen works great.
  • Fresh Lemons (Juice): Using freshly juice lemons provides a better flavor without an added acidity, but you can use store-bought in a pinch.
  • Water: Another staple in this recipe to thin out the fruit.
  • Honey: A natural sweetener to this beverage.

For this recipe, you'll want to have on hand a Measuring Cup, Blender, Knife, Juice Press and Pitcher.

Substitutions and Variations

There are many ways to mix up this Honey Strawberry Lemonade recipe.

  • Raspberries: Making a Raspberry Lemonade Recipe is another refreshing option. I prefer to strain the seeds after blending as raspberries are very seedy. Add a cup or two blueberries for a Blue Raspberry Recipe.
  • Simple Syrup: While this recipe calls for honey a more natural sweetener, you definitely can use a Simple Syrup Recipe instead. Since it is more concentrated, you will want to start with a smaller amount and taste as you go.
  • Agave Syrup: Another easy swap for honey, if you don't have it on hand.
  • Granulated Sugar: If you do not have honey, you can use a granulated sugar instead. Honey is sweeter than sugar so you may need to play with the amount used.
  • Store-Bought Lemon Juice: In a pinch, you can use this instead of fresh lemons but you may need to adjust the quantity. It can also be more acidic so the flavor may change.
  • Lime: Mix it up by swapping or incorporating lime juice into the mix.
  • Herbs: The addition of freshly muddled basil or mint add a fresh flavor profile.
  • Sparkling Water: Instead of still water, use sparkling water for a bubbly twist.

How to Make Honey Strawberry Lemonade

Just toss it all into the blender and you are officially making yourself a fresh, delicious, homemade Honey Strawberry Lemonade.

Working in 2 batches, add half the strawberries, 1 cup of water, ⅓ cup lemon juice and ¼ cup honey to a high-powered blender and run for about 2 minutes.

Pour into a pitcher and repeat. Add to the pitcher and add 1 cup of water (or more depending on desired flavor and consistency).

Serve over ice.

Hint: Buying fresh strawberries when they are in season will result is a sweeter, more flavorful drink. When not in season, strawberries can taste dull and watery, I prefer to choose frozen in this case.

How to Store Honey Strawberry Lemonade

This is a great recipe to make and store for later. Here are some ways you can extend its shelf life.

  • Refrigerator: Once made, you can place in an airtight pitcher for 5-7 days.
  • Freezer: I like to portion out 2 servings into mason jars before freezing. It should last up to 4 months. Ensure to leave enough room for expansion if taking this route. Thaw in the fridge overnight. You may need to give it another quick blend prior to serving.
  • Make Ahead: You can juice your lemons a few days in advance, but I recommend buying your strawberries fresh or use frozen (thawed). When ready to make the lemonade, you will be half way ready.

What to Serve with Honey Strawberry Lemonade

  • Mixed Berry Crisp: Another great fruity dessert pairing.
  • Pulled Pork Sliders on Hawaiian Rolls: A great recipe for a pool party or a family weeknight dinner, perfect for sharing. Tangy BBQ sauce tastes delicious contrasted with a refreshing fruity drink.
  • Fresh Salads: Your favorite salad is a great match for this drink - we love a garden salad, caprese salad, or classic Caesar.
  • Fresh Fruit: A colorful platter of fresh fruit or fruit salad is a sweet accompaniment to Honey Strawberry Lemonade.
  • BBQ: Summer is synonymous with grilling, and whether you barbecue chicken, hamburgers, or seafood, you will want to serve it with Honey Strawberry Lemonade.
  • Fish Tacos: Seafood is a light and refreshing dinner pairing.
  • Chips and Dip: We love the flavors of tortilla chips and homemade guacamole or pico de gallo for a fresh and tasty summer snack.
