Easter Bark Recipe Ingredients

See the recipe card below for the exact quantities of each ingredient.

For this recipe, you'll want to have on hand a sharp knife, cutting board, a 9x13 baking sheet and parchment paper.

Substitutions and Variations

You can have so much fun mixing up this recipe with your favorite Easter treats.

  • Chocolate Base: Swap white chocolate for milk or dark chocolate if you prefer a richer flavor for an Easter Chocolate bark recipe.
  • White Chocolate: You can swap the bar chocolate for white chocolate chips or white candy melts.
  • Candy Variations: Use any of your favorite Easter candy, the possibilities are endless. You can try pastel jelly beans, milk chocolate mini eggs, mini marshmallows, or chopped chocolate bars, or any leftover chocolate.
  • Sprinkle Swap: Try crushed pretzels, shredded coconut, or crushed freeze-dried berries for added texture.
  • Dairy-Free Option: Use dairy-free white chocolate for a vegan-friendly version.
  • Nutty Crunch: Add chopped almonds, pecans, or pistachios for an extra crunch.

How to Make Easter Bark

You will love making this white chocolate bark because it is such an easy recipe.

Fit a 9x13 baking sheet with parchment paper to the edge (or a silicone mat).

Melt white chocolate in a microwave safe bowl using 30-second intervals. Mix chocolate well with a spatula or spoon and repeat (note: this recipe took 5 30-second increments).

Spread an even thin layer of melted white chocolate onto baking sheet (note: do not worry about going right to the edges).

Add any toppings; here we used pastel M&Ms and about pastel sprinkles, but you can use your holiday favorites.

Allow the chocolate to set on the counter for at least 3 hours or in the fridge for 1 hour.

Break bark up by hand or using a sharp knife into large and small pieces.

Hint: Use short 30-second intervals in the microwave, stirring in between, to avoid burning the chocolate. Alternatively, you can use a double boiler and a heatproof bowl to melt down your chocolate.

How to Store Easter Bark

This candy bark recipe will get devoured, but if you have leftovers, here are some helpful storage hints.

  • Refrigerator: Place in an airtight container and keep on the counter for up to 10 days before transferring to the fridge for an additional for 3-4 days.
  • Freezer: If placed in the freezer in an airtight container this bark can last up to 3 months. I like to stack mine with layers of parchment paper or wax between the pieces.

Top Tips

To help you make the best Easter Bark here are some helpful hints!

  • Even Spreading: Spread the melted chocolate in an even layer, but don’t stress about perfect edges—it will break into fun shapes!
  • Toppings Tip: Press bigger topping items gently into the chocolate while it's still melted to ensure they stick.
  • Setting Time: Allow the bark to fully set before breaking it apart for the best texture.

Frequently Asked Questions About Easter Bark

Do you have questions about making an Easter Bark Recipe?

Can Easter Bark be made ahead?

Yes. It stores well in an airtight container, making it a great choice for a make-ahead treat.

Can I use candy melts instead of white chocolate?

You could, but pure white chocolate provides a smoother, more rich flavor and texture.

What is the best way to break the bark?

If you want your bark to have a more rustic look, you can break it by hand. For a more uniform look, use a sharp knife to cut pieces.

How can I make sure my chocolate won't seize?

You can help your chocolate melt well by avoiding getting any moisture into the melted chocolate and by stirring it gently.
